Why eat donuts just for carnival, if we can eat them the whole year?
This time we have prepared a healthier but also delicious version.
For 12 donuts you will need:
- 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup almond or rice milk
- ¼ cup coconut oil
- ¼ cup white or apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease two donut pans. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking soda, nutmeg, and salt. In a medium bowl, whisk nondairy milk, oil, vinegar, and vanilla. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and whisk together quickly until they just combined right. Using a pastry bag with a thick round pastry tip, pipe batter into the prepared donut pans and bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and let sit 5 minutes before unmolding.
Chocolate Glaze
- 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon soy, almond, or rice milk
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
In a double boiler or microwave, melt the chocolate chips and nondairy milk together. Whisk in the powdered sugar until smooth. Let sit for 5 to 10 minutes before glazing so that the glaze thickens and any powdered sugar clumps dissolve.
Old-Fashioned Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy, almond, or rice milk
In a small bowl, whisk the powdered sugar and nondairy milk until smooth.
To assemble donuts: Dip each doughnut into the glaze, covering the top. Twist the donut as you remove it from the glaze to give it a nice finish and prevent dripping. Immediately sprinkle the topping using: rainbow or chocolate sprinkles, chopped toasted almonds, shredded coconut, mini chocolate chips.
Veganski krofi iz pečice
Zakaj bi jedli krofe le za pusta, z njimi se lahko sladkamo celo leto?
Tokrat smo pripravili bolj zdravo, a enako slastno različico.
Za 12 krofov potrebujete:
- 320g moke
- 80g rjavega sladkorja
- 2 žlički sode bikarbone (ali pecilnega praška)
- 2 žlički mletega muškatnega oreščka
- 1 žlička soli
- 240 ml mandljevega ali riževega mleka
- 60 ml kokosovega olja
- 60 ml jabolčnega kisa (ali belega kisa)
- 1 žlička vaniljinega ekstrakta
Pečico segrejte na 190 °C in z rastlinskim oljem ali kokosovo maščobo namastite pekač za krofe. V veliki posodi zmešajte moko, sladkor, sodo bikarbono, muškatni orešček in sol. V srednje veliki posodi stepite rastlinsko mleko, olje, kis in vanilijo. Mokre sestavine dodajte suhim in hitro stepajte dokler ni masa popolnoma homogena. Z vrečko za brizganje ali navadno plastično vrečko z odrezano konico maso nabrizgajte v modelčke pekača in pecite 10 do 12 minut. Krofi naj stojijo 5 minut preden jih vzamete iz pekača.
Čokoladni obliv
- 76 g koščkov čokolade
- 2 žlici in 1 žličko sojinega, mandljevega ali riževega mleka
- 50 g sladkorja v prahu
Na pari ali v mikrovalovni pečici stopite čokolado in rastlinsko mleko. Vmešajte sladkor, dokler ne nastane gladka zmes. Pustite stati 5 do 10 minut, da se masa nekoliko strdi in grudice sladkorja raztopijo.
Sladkorni obliv
- 100 g sladkorja v prahu
- 2 žlici sojinega, mandljevega ali riževega mleka
V majhni posodi stepite sladkor z rastlinskim mlekom, da nastane gladka zmes.
Vsak krof pomočite v preliv, tako da prekrijete zgornjo polovico. Zavrtite krof, ko ga dvignete iz preliva, saj s tem dosežete lepši videz in preprečite kapljanje. Takoj posujte z izbranimi dodatki: z barvastimi ali čokoladnimi mrvicami, sesekljanimi praženimi mandlji, koščki kokosa ali majhnimi koščki čokolade.
