{"id":11382,"date":"2017-03-12T17:47:56","date_gmt":"2017-03-12T17:47:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cute.si\/cutelife\/?p=11382"},"modified":"2017-03-12T17:48:05","modified_gmt":"2017-03-12T17:48:05","slug":"bagels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cute.si\/cutelife\/bagels\/","title":{"rendered":"BAGELS"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Treat your family with homemade bagels for the beginning of a new\u00a0week.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Make them with cream cheese, peanut butter, jams, lemon curd, bananas, chocolate sprinkles, and scrambled eggs with cheese to make every morning a new breakfast sensation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\"><strong>\u00a0Ingrdients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"Standard\">2 teaspoons active dry yeast<\/li>\n<li class=\"Standard\">1 1\/2 tablespoons granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li class=\"Standard\">1 1\/4 cups warm water<\/li>\n<li class=\"Standard\">3 1\/2 cups (500 g) full grain (or purpose) flour<\/li>\n<li class=\"Standard\">1 1\/2 teaspoons salt<\/li>\n<li class=\"Standard\">1\/2 tbsp baking soda<\/li>\n<li class=\"Standard\">1 tbsp honey<\/li>\n<li class=\"Standard\">mixture of seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Pour \u00bd cup warm water, yeast, and sugar into the bowl of a stand mixer and let it sit 5 minutes. Add in flour, salt, and most of the remaining warm water. The dough has to be elastic and soft. Cover with a kitchen towel or cling film and leave to proof for 1 hour at room temperature or until doubled in size.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Preheat oven to 425\u00b0 F (220\u00b0C) and put a large pot of water on to boil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\"><a href=\"http:\/\/cute.si\/cutelife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/bagels-04-web.jpg\" rel=\"mfp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11386 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" data-src=\"http:\/\/cute.si\/cutelife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/bagels-04-web.jpg\" alt=\"bagels 04 web\" width=\"600\" height=\"900\" data-sizes=\"auto\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/cute.si\/cutelife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/bagels-04-web.jpg 600w, https:\/\/cute.si\/cutelife\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/03\/bagels-04-web-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Divide the dough in half, and then each half into fourths. You&#8217;ll have 8 dough balls. Make a hole in the middle of each ball, it should be about 3cm (1.1 inch) wide. Place each bagel on a baking tray, lined with parchment paper. Make sure there&#8217;s a bit of space between each bagel. Cover the bagels loosely with cling film and leave to proof at room temperature for 40 &#8211; 50 minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">Bring a large pot of water to a boil. You&#8217;ll need about 5 inches of water. Add the baking soda and the honey. Boil bagels for 1-2 minutes on each side. The longer the boil, the chewier the bagel. Use the handle of a wooden spoon to flip the bagels in the water. Remove the cooked bagels and drain any excess water. Sprinkle with a topping and place them on a baking tray lined parchment paper.
