On the third day of Ljubljana fashion week we were able to see designs by Maja Štamol, Young@Squat, Dejan Popovic, Sanija Reja Aske, Svetlana Jaćović, niOka and Sofia Nogard.
My top two are Young@Squat and Sanija Reja Aske.
YOUNG@SQUAT
Five young designers, one amazing collection.
Timotej Bistan, Barbara Krmelj, Maja Leskovšek, Sara Valenci and Barbara Vrbančič. They named their collection Vincent and Christina, inspired by Vincent Gallo and Christina Ricci, an avant-garde man and a dark but romantic woman.
SANIJA REJA ASKE
Sanija named her collection ViennaWien and it’s based on a story about a naive and young love. A love like the ones in the movies from the 30s, mixed with modernity — I loved it!
MAJA ŠTAMOL named her collection Sheona – with head in space and feet on the solid ground. She combined her designs with Mura Pehnec bags and Kopitarna shoes.

DEJAN POPOVIC and his ‘Pockets full of stones’ collection were inspired by the death of coral reefs, which lead him to create mostly black and white designs with shades of blue.

SVETLANA JAĆOVIĆ named her collection ‘S’ and it is a result of her research on geometrical forms and geometry. Her collection is also based on black and white, but with yellow and earth hued pieces.

niOka designed a collection for women and named it Ja Maa Vos, inspired by a Holland artist. Another geometrical and asymmetrical collection with a lot of black and red pieces.

The SOFIA NOGARD duo named their collection Eradicated, based on a story of people in the near future without technology. It is collection full of blue, purple and, of course, eternal black.
