Source:The third and final day was again more than expected. The presentations and the catwalks were amazing and the talkshows fullfilling.
It was the day we acomplished to see the most of all days because it was the last one and all was happening so fast so we were just running from one show to the other.
The top three of this day for me were the collections presented by AMATO, DIMA AYAD, HZ by HISSA ZAINAL and ORKALIA.
The designer behind another awesome collection named Desert Virgins, is Fourne One. This season Amato Couture embarked on an expedition towards vast landscapes to stone fortresses.
“I intend to use elements from the romantic details of botanical illustrations, landscape paintings of the west juxtaposed with the rich, exotic cultural elements of the east with a playful, feminine touch.”
Spring summer was inspired by a hint of dramatic romance. It’s a modern take on classic favourites using textured fabrics that stand out.
Soft colours like dusty pink, light grey, and ivory, paired with striking midnight blue and black. Soft fabrics and lace that drape graciously on the body. Special sequin embellished fabric, jacquard, French lace, crepe de chine, and jersey were the fabrics used to create Spring/Summer 2017
The collection is named Act Two: Hybrid of Two Worlds. HZ by Hissa Zainal drew inspiration from one of Mother Nature’s most majestic wonders – it’s deep forests. Rich hues, wonder and simplicity by nature the forest notion was the center of the collection.
It’s a play on the sporty chic girl who adds elegance to her everyday wear with ease.
“The Self Which One Truly Is” is a collection based on existentialist theories. The collection concludes our modern pop-culture, consumption habits and passivity to be direct constituents of our fear from being our true selves. Pieces juxtapose a draped, flirty, floral core against closed-off military accents and elements.

SS17 is a celebration of women from every walk of life. Designed with the intention of reflecting the shining personality of the person wearing the clothes, each piece combines timeless elegance with a breeziness that is needed in today’s age where women are constantly on the go. Fashion is out on the streets, in cafes, on podiums, and in offices creating confidence and helping to shape the different facets of our beautiful, meaningful lives.
The designer Faiza Bouguessa about the collection: “The sound of the contemporary composers Sebastien Tellier inspired me. My creative process started with a clear feel of the mood of either my campaign images or my presentation at Fashion Forward.”
The collection is inspired by the Chinese ancient silk route. Oman was a main stop as it was rich in frankincense and luban. The Omani role in the silk route made it’s mark and was its introduction to the world. Today, the collection uses this rich heritage to pave the way in the international fashion market.
A continual experimentation of intriguing shapes and textures, Al Sharqi’s SS17 collection looks into nature. The fluidity of waves and ripples in the sand are reflected on flowy silhouettes and choice of textured fabrics seen on asymmetrical dresses and blouses, with abstract cutaways capturing the rising and setting of the sun.
The collection “La Femme Bonbon” is like a morning dawned bright and sweet, like ribbon candy. Rounded, soft volumes coupled with vivid colors sweep you to your imaginary playground.
Varoin Marwah’s SS17 ‘Aquadip’, is inspired from the beauty of the ocean. Colours drawn from the deep blue waters of the ocean and the reflection of the blue grey sky on the water with greens deriving from reflections of trees and under water plant life. Ocean waves are translated in a geometrical form of a chevron pattern.
