December is my favorite month, I just love all the lights and cinnamon smell on every corner.
Although Ljubljana is definitely most charming during festive days I wanted to explore neighbouring cities. I visited Graz in Austria many times but never went to the center of the city. Everytime I visit some new city I try to look up some cool spots to drink coffee or eat the best lunch. And of course where are the best views of the city rooftops.
The good thing is also that during December on weekend their public transport is free and also some parking spaces.
Let me list a few of must see in Graz:
Kastner and Öhler
Not only the store is gorgeous, especially in Christmas time. On second floor there is a bar with piano and there is always someone playing. It sounds magical. But if you are not in the mood for shopping go to the top and go outside to the roof terrace and admire this charming city from the top.
Ducks Coffee Shop
Can this place get any cuter? Their minimalistic, design mixed with a cute yellow duck. Yes you readed it well, a duck 🙂 It’s everywhere, on the mugs, coffee packages which you can buy to take home as well. I will let photos do the talking.
Schlossberg
Another great place for beautiful views and a nice walk up the hill. But If you hate the stairs I recommend taking the elevator up and then stairs down. Especially beautiful at sunset.
Vapiano
Great place to eat pizza, salad or pasta. I loved their rather different and new approach of paying. The whole atmoshpere is really nice. Also the food was great!
Herrengasse
Shopping street that is also really nice just to walk through it. At this time is beautifuly decorated and it’s just nice to look at the stores. Really charming!
Graz you really impressed me, and I question myself why I waited so long to visit you. We will sure be back soon.
